9 year old Super Sophie has been bravely battling cancer since she was 7 years old. Literally, her first ever chemotherapy treatment was on her 7th birthday. She beat cancer once, and now it’s back. She now needs specialized medical treatments that are not covered by insurance. The type of cancer that she has, Alveolar Rhabdomyosarcoma, does not have a cure. Sophie has begun these treatments and they have already proven to be extremely beneficial and effective. At the very least, this protocol will drastically improve Sophie’s quality of life. At best, this treatment may offer her longevity of life. This protocol is the closest thing to a cure that we can offer Sophie. Super Sophie is worth every penny… and every penny counts!

Matthew Martin is a typical 6 year old boy except he has not lived a typical life. In 2015 at the age of two Matt started having fevers. After numerous visits to the doctors the evidence was clear. Matt had cancer. He was soon diagnosed with ALL, a type of leukemia. He started treatment but encountered some serious setbacks. Within a month of starting chemotherapy, Matt had developed an invasive fungus and mold. He lost the ability to walk and eat. After a grueling 299 days at Children’s Mercy, Matthew was on the road to kicking cancer right in the behind! Matthew overcame cancer and finished treatment in June of 2018. As Matt started kindergarten and got back to living a normal life, cancer was a thing of the past. That was until November of 2018. At a monthly checkup, Matt’s world was once again turned upside down. His blood work showed that the cancer was back with a vengeance. Matthew relapsed with cancer in his blood, his bone marrow and his spinal fluid. He was admitted and started chemotherapy immediately. To date Matt has had over 50 surgeries, over 375 days spent at Children’s Mercy, 3 sets of leg braces and has spent over half his life fighting cancer. He will spend the next 2 1/2 years fighting again.

Liam just turned 3 years old on November 8, 2018. This is quite the milestone considering he had only a 30% chance of seeing his first birthday. Liam was born with Myotubular Myopathy, which is a genetic disease that leaves his muscles very weak. The day Liam was born we had no idea he had a medical issue and like most, had never heard of Myotubular Myopathy. It is a terrible disease that only affects boys and at this time there is no cure.
